Merits + Demerits Of Copper Cabling
Telecommunication is the most upgraded vehicle of the communication with the rest of the world within very short span of time. Prior to the advent of the telephone or tele-printer, man had to make rapport with other through letter writing or much earlier making gestures and drawing pictures. Now due to the blessing of science and technology, man is now very much able to make communication through the usage of upgraded technology. In this connection, telephone is the best way of making conversation with others.
However, so far as the telephone cabling is concerned, copper cabling is much more effective and beneficial in some spheres. There is higher possibility of doing the repair on copper telephone cable network with the help of some hand tools. It is much more convenient. However in comparison to fiber it is seen that fiber cabling is easy to install. Anyone with some training can do repair on fiber network with some expensive tools. However, it is the fact that the usage of the copper or fiber cabling is simply reliant on the present condition of the infrastructure and the size of the network. In terms of number of users and the coverage of the physical distances , fiber is the better option between wiring closets. Another thing to be noted in this respect that depending on the existing infrastructure, in case there is the involvement of the permanent space it can be said that unlike hubs, server including computers there is the least possibility of the shifting of the cabling to a larger facility with company in the case of the running out of the lease.
So one should be careful whether the building is owned or leased. Last but not the least, it will be much expensive to purchase new fiber cabling system with the upgraded and sophisticated electronics technology after the huge amount of money being already invested in the upgradation of the copper infrastructure and copper etherne ports.
