It is amply overt that telephone has earned much popularity and recognition in the society. It is the very convenient way of making rapport with the near and dear ones. One can plug a phone into this jack with the workable cable or wire taking the phone off of the hook and he can try to listen for the dial tone. If someone faces the problem after that he can consult the information booklet or phone manual. In case there is no dialing tone then one must come to conclusion that there must be some problem in the phone line. If someone has multiple jacks he can try one after another. If one jack is workable and other is not then one must suspect the wiring fault between the NID and those particular jacks
